Copperlove

A couple of days ago I spotted a very stylish woman in Zurich. She wore a midi Skirt and was shoving her bicycle around the City. The reason why she caught my attention straightaway were some copper colored Birkenstock-Style Sandals that she wore on her feet. I saw them and I instantly knew that I had to have them! When I got home that evening I surfed around the web but couldn't find them on the Birkenstock Website, so I stopped looking for them. This morning when I was on my way to work I took a different route and walked by a shoe store in Niederdörfli and there they were! After work I rushed over to the store and bought them. They're from a spanish label called 67, and even though they are not as comfy as the Birkenstocks that I own I'm sure that I will wear them all summer long. I think that they will add a cool touch to every summer outfit!

Dusty Lilac

The last week before christmas holidays had been so stressful, that I only just now came around to editing the photos we made. As I mentioned before, I sat in front of a sewing machine after a long time again. I forgot how much thinking sewing requires, but also how satisfying it is to see how piece by piece a product comes together. I think I'm going to sew a garment very soon, just because I really enjoyed it.
These photos had been taken during class, I took a little break from nonstop sewing and went outside to get a breath of fresh air. My hair had been growing a lot since my last haircut, and I'm thinking of cutting it again. I don't like it right now, cause it's neither long nor short.

Tongue Out

I came across this dusty pink building the other day and I had to take a picture in front of it. The winter boots that I'm wearing make my feet appear gigantic. But they are the only shoes for winter that I got, as I've mentioned in a previous post. This is the last school week before Christmas break and I can't wait for the holidays to come. I've got a few things planned for the upcoming two weeks. Including things that I've wanted to do for so long, but haven't found time to take care of or simply didn't have enough motivation yet to do it, like for example coloring my hair back to black (excuse me for the ugly black growth in my hairline haha, it looks horrible on photos! I always freak out when I see it).

During Sewing Class

Sometimes I just don't know what to say besides putting my photos up on the blog. Writing interesting and long texts are not one of my strengths. I'm more a visual kind of person. I like to work with pictures and visual impressions rather than well elaborated sentences. Anywho, this was shot at school a few days ago during sewing class. I wore my tightest denim skirt that I own. Surprisingly it kept me quite warm during the day, despite the freezing temperatures that we're experiencing at the moment. I've got an exciting trip coming up after New Year. At the End of January I'm flying out to New York!!! This will be my second time in New York. The first time doesn't really count, as I've only stayed there for two days and spent the night in New Jersey. This time I will have 13 days to explore the beauty and adventures of this city. I can't wait!! I'm soon gonna write a list of things I'm planning to do! Man, there are just too many!

It almost looks like spring on these photos. The sun plays tricks on you, making you think like the degrees have gone up. It's quite cold at the moment, but as long as there is no ice on the streets, I can deal with the temperatures. I hate icy roads, mainly because I only own one pair of ice suitable shoes, which technically don't belong to me but to my mom. I remember when I slipped on my way to the train station last winter and fell on my bum with my legs stretched out in front of me for what it seems five seconds or so. I remember turning my head to check if someone saw me. There was a guy behind me staring at me. I laughed artificially, to cover up my embarrassment, which is a typical thing for me to do. Whenever something embarrassing happens to me, I want to be the first person to laugh about it. As soon as you're laughing, the humiliating thing that just happened doesn't seem so bad anymore. And hey, laughing about yourself is good! You shouldn't take yourself too seriously.

Outfit in Motion

This outfit was shot almost a month ago, you might have seen and read the post here. Allya and I not only took photos of our outfits that day, but also tried capturing our outfits by film as well. Last evening I finally found time to edit the video material that has been patiently waiting for me in a folder stored on my laptop. Ever since I got introduced to Final Cut Pro last year in school, I love to make videos. Unfortunately I don't have Final Cut on my Laptop, so I put up with iMovie on my sisters Macbook, which was good enough for simple video editing.
There will be more Videos in the future, since I love working with this medium so much. I hope you enjoy watching them!

On last friday I attended  a lecture that took place at the cabaret voltaire, where the art form dadaism was born almost 100 years ago. It was a really nice place to have school in. I decided to capture bits of my day and show it to you, to make up for the lack of posts lately.
Can you feel christmas? I can. I felt so happy when I saw the swarovski christmas tree at the central station of zurich yesterday. The whole city is illuminated, can't believe it's that time of year again.

The Sun came out to Play

My friend Allya and I went on the roof of a parking garage the other day and took these photos. The lighting was perfect and it might look warm on the photos, but actually it was windy and freezing. I'm in love with this cosy cardigan that I got from Milan. I could wear it everyday and combine it with everything. I'm thinking about throwing more than half of my clothes out of my wardrobe and invest in some great basic pieces, that can be worn in at least 6 different outfits. I should do that in my christmas holidays.

Black for the Lazy

Somehow I always manage to get stressed out when it comes to deciding what to wear in the morning. I've tried to plan out oufit ideas before hand, like the evening before, but that always turned out to be a bad idea. I noticed that my decision on what to wear depends on my mood in that very moment of the decision. So if I pick an outfit before hand, it will sometimes not match to the mood that I'm in the next day. Yesterday morning I opted for a simple (almost) all black outfit. It's so easy to wear all black in my opinion, because it always looks kinda decent. Whenever I'm in a rush or lazy I grab for the black pieces in my wardrobe.
