I've been listening to Spotify a lot lately and I discovered some great new tracks that I have been listening up and down these days. When I like a song, I listen to it over and over again until I get sooo sick of it that I drop it out of my playlist and never listen to it again.
Also I'm a person who never listens to what the artist is actually singing. I never ever pay attention to the words, even if I tell myself to listen to the words, I find myself getting distracted by something else again.

A Sunday Well spent

A Sunday well spent is when you wake up early in the morning, take a warm shower, have a cup of tea, take the train to the city and have Brunch at  Hiltl with your Best friend. It has been ages since we sat down and had a little chat together, catching up on things was an overdue. We really benefit from the large choice the delicious buffet offered at the Hiltl Restaurant in the heart of Zurich. I started with a bowl of granola and greek yoghurt, went over to a dish of their salad bar, then loaded my plate with all the different curries they had, reached for my usual samosa (it's a must) and in the end (when my jeans already got veeery tight around my stomach) I had a plate of all the different and delicious sweet treats they had like coconut and chocolate cake, brownie mousse, panna cotta, raspberry tiramisu or apple crumble. I probably shouldn't have taken the last plate, because I really felt I would explode any minute after that, but it was just impossible to walk past it. Afterwards we went for a long walk even though it was raining, but we didn't mind. We had lots to digest in our belly! In the end we ended up in Niederdörfli, the old town of Zurich and dropped by Café Henrici for the very first time where we each had a large portion of tea.

I realized how unproductive my Sundays were up until that day! Normally I would lay in my bed until noon, have breakfast/lunch and laze around all day. Most of the time I would be in a bad mood caused by my unproductiveness. I told myself to be more active and spontaneous from now on. It's so nice when you're just walking around and exploring something new like the small alleys in old town, that we my friend and I have never been to before, even though we are in Zurich almost everyday, or the Café, that I usually just walk past.
I always tell myself that I want to travel and leave the Country, but actually there are tons of things here that I haven't seen yet and while I'm still saving money for my big travels I could satisfy my urge to travel with small trips in this Country.

A couple of days ago I spotted a very stylish woman in Zurich. She wore a midi Skirt and was shoving her bicycle around the City. The reason why she caught my attention straightaway were some copper colored Birkenstock-Style Sandals that she wore on her feet. I saw them and I instantly knew that I had to have them! When I got home that evening I surfed around the web but couldn't find them on the Birkenstock Website, so I stopped looking for them. This morning when I was on my way to work I took a different route and walked by a shoe store in Niederdörfli and there they were! After work I rushed over to the store and bought them. They're from a spanish label called 67, and even though they are not as comfy as the Birkenstocks that I own I'm sure that I will wear them all summer long. I think that they will add a cool touch to every summer outfit!

8 Things I like #June

1. Gold Necklace with a lilac Mineral: Last week I was looking for some earrings in my sisters room but instead I found this lovely necklace. I remember that she bought it at the Bürkliplatz Flea Market in Zurich two years ago.
2. Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture The Mats Lipstick: A Beautyshop Chain in Switzerland had an amazing action last week. They sold all their lipsticks with a discount of 40%! When I heard about it, I quickly rushed to the mall in my village and bought this beautiful lipstick. It has a gorgeous mat finish, and feels very nice on my lips. I hope I get the chance to wear it soon!
3. Franz Kafka "Die Verwandlung": I have to read more books and I've set myself a goal - one book a month, starting with this classic.
4. The Memorandum Notebook I got from Seoul last Year will be following me everywhere from now on.
5. Essie Nail Varnish in "allure": This color is so subdued and chic. I love having it on my nails.
6. Moleskine Notebook: I love writing down lists and thoughts, as you can tell.
7. Fruits of all different kinds of colors in my muesli bowl, the perfect kickstart to a day.
8. Falling by Haim: I only knew their Song "The Wire" up until yesterday, but then I stumbled upon "Falling" on Spotify and I instantly fell in love with it.

Time to Unwind

Unwind. Refuel. Learn to live, experience, feel and love. Let it be what's not supposed to be. Don't regret. Take action. React in the momentum. Find myself Again. Be Happy.

bite the apple

This post is long overdue, but I still wanted to share it with you! I went to New York in the end of February this year. We (my bf and I) spent two amazing (and cold-ass) weeks in Manhattan and Brooklyn and wished we could experience our stay all over again. It was my second time in the city and it still felt like my very first. There is just something about this city that catches your breath and grabs you. Despite the icecold temperatures and the occasional rain-/snowstorm we didn't cringed to do sightseeings and shopping marathons. There was only one day, when it was snowing ridiculously, that we had to escape to a sheltered and warm place. We used that opportunity to spent the day at museums, which was awesome too. I think I could do anything in this city and still find it amazing in a way. I feel like I have only seen one-tenth of this city and there is still so much to discover! I will be back soon, that's for sure!

What I recommend

Things I have been loving recently...

1. Girls the hbo series by Lena Dunham
I remember watching Girls for the first time two years ago, after I read an article in a magazine about it. It was claimed to be the real "Sex and The City" and I was curious to find out more. I remember watching the first episode and seeing Lena Dunham naked on my laptop screen. To be honest, it kinda pulled me off, as I was accustomed to see perfect shaped bodies on shows like Gossip Girls or Sex and The City. I didn't know what I should think of it. Thus, I decided to return to size zero girls wearing high fashion designer clothes and sipping cocktail drinks at fancy dinner parties. Two weeks ago, I was trying to find a new tv show to get hooked on, and somehow I came back to Girls and now I'm so so glad about it. Girls is honest, funny, brilliant and refreshing. It shows life of girls in my age with all the troubles and worries included, but I didn't need to explain it to you, I guess you all knew already.

2. Death by Elocution on Tumblr
I do not know anything about the owner of this blog, whether it's a he or she, but what I do know is that this person has a really good taste in fashion, well, that's a least what I think! On Death-by-Elocution you'll find a tumblr roll of outfit photos (mostly without the face of the person who's wearing it), shoes and accessories. The outfits that are being blogged are mostly held in white, gray or black and are super casual, simple but yet stylish and cool. I think I have already loved tons of her/his photos and I always go back when I want to find some outfit inspirations for the day.

3. Cameron Diaz' Body Book
So I wasn't sure at first if I should get this book, because it had the image of a well known Hollywood Star on the Book Cover and I always think that those books don't really shine with the quality of content but more with the name of the author. So I had a longer look at it first. I read a couple of pages and I had to admit that I really liked what I was reading, so I decided to buy it and I'm happy I did. Cameron Diaz wrote this book to help Women understand their Body and give information about everything concerning Nutrition, Health and Body. She explains easily what our Foods are made of, what our Organs do with it and what our Body does with it. I'm not even halfway through, but I can already recommend it to all of you who want to know more about the consequences of bad eating habits and lack of movement and want to learn how to live a healthy and happy life.

4. 8tracks and spotify enrich my life
So I've been using 8tracks and spotify on a regular basis for a couple of months now and it seriously enriches my ear with tracks that I would have never found out about. I'm a very lazy person when it comes to discovering new things such as songs or movies. I like to get comfortable and let everyone else look out for those kinds of things. Mostly I rely on the taste of my boyfriend, but since I started to use 8track and spotify I never have to listen to the same old songs over and over again.

6. John Bakers Fruit Bread
If you live in Zurich or you're here on vacation, definitely stop by John Bakers Bakery at Stadelhofen for their freshly baked goods! Today was my second time I went there to get the Fruit Bread in order to still my afternoon hunger. I love the interior of this bakery and the freshness of their stuff! The bread was warm when I bite into it, which for me, is the definition for the perfect bread!
