Milano you're way too beautiful

The beauty about living in a small country in the middle of Europe is the short distances between my country and amazing cities like Paris, London, Berlin or Milan. It never occured to me that I could take quick trips to another city in the middle of a school term, when my friend suggested we could visit Milan for the weekend. I spontaneously agreed and was happy to be spending some time apart from school. We stayed at an appartment we found through Airbnb at Porta Romana, which is quite central and very near to all the important places we wanted to see anyway. Apart from walking miles and miles for shopping we also strolled around the River Navigli Grande, which is an absolutley must-go when you're visiting Milan. There are a lot of bars, restaurants and independant shops along the river, that are definitley worth a visit. Milan is so beautiful, I never would have guessed, because to be honest, I was never really interested in visiting this city. But this was now my second time in Milan and I would definitley go back once again.

Seoul #5: The last bits

Okay this is going to be my last post showing you my photos from my holidays in seoul. It has been two weeks now since I got back. Now I'm lying in my bed with my stomach empty and tired eyes trying to remember a specific moment in seoul, which I could tell you about. But I'm not very much in the mood for lots of words, which is why I'm letting my pictures speak for themselves. All I can say is that I've enjoyed my stay in Seoul very much. It has been quite an experience. I shopped like a crazy person, had the best food in my life and also the grossest (I tried living squid, cocoons and chicken ass) and experienced seoul by night, which is so exciting and fun, because the city has so much to offer for a friday night - or any night to be exact.

Seoul #4: Cycling along the River

On a Tuesday, if I'm recalling it correctly, we decided to be sporty for a change and therefore went to rent a tandem for an hour, in order to cycle along the River "Han". It wasn't a typical touristic thing to do. I've always wanted to do things in a foreign country, what only locals would do. It's the best way to get to know a city in my opinion. As we made our way along the River we listened to a Chris Brown Song over and over again, which got stuck in my head ever since. In the evening we went to Hongdae for the very first time and enjoyed a very delicious korean barbecue for my second time in Seoul.

Seoul #3: Walk and Explore

People chilling by Cheonggyecheon, artifical river in Downtown Seoul

I'm back in Switzerland again. Now I've got a few days left of my summer vacation, which is coming to an end pretty soon. I'm using this time to taking up the blogging again.
On one of our trips my friend and I went to a very traditional and touristic place called Insa-dong. It is a common place for tourists to go, because of its many shops selling traditional korean items and souvenirs. I did a little shopping there for my friends and afterwards we had korean lunch and continued walking to Samcheong-dong and ended up in Downtown Seoul in the end. I remember being pretty exhausted at the end of the day because of the time we spent with walking. A delicious dinner at a random japanese restaurant rounded out the day perfectly.

Seoul #2: Namsan Tower

There is a possibility that you'll feel quite lonely when you're visiting the Namsan Tower all by yourself, because the tower is being dominated by the theme of Love. Tons and tons of locks in all kinds of shapes have been attached to the railing underneath the tower and the matching keys have been thrown into the forest. I was wondering how many of the couples have already split up and how many of them still exist. My friend and I went up there in the late afternoon, so we could watch the sun vanish behind the skyscrapers and see how the city turns into a sea of lights. I love looking at a big city from afar, it just seems so quiet and peaceful, when in reality it's the right opposite.
